Born in Worcester on 11th April 1982, Mike developed a love for drawing and painting at a young age. 

It was at The King's School, Worcester, that his love for art and landscape painting developed and after a brief stint in HM Royal Navy, Mike headed for Newcastle University where he graduated with a BA(hons) Fine Art. 

During the course he left landscape painting behind, allowing him to pursue his interest in contemporary installational work and large scale paintings.

Now living back in the North East, Mike has returned to land and seascape painting.  Using mostly oils on primed 6mm MDF, his work is engaging, vigorous and his use of brushstrokes, layering and scraping back paint results in highly finished and emotional works.

 Mike has also produced (and continues to produce) artwork for music, including album and sleeve cover artwork.
